Kit Release - Melancholy

A brand new kit that came from a contest. This is the kit that I made for the second round of the designer challenge/contest over at Gingerscraps. The challenge was to produce a kit using one color and only changing the hue...I found it very difficult as the colors all seemed too similar but then I realized that is exactly what we were asked to do and I guess that as a designer it was to show the ability to use limited resources including color.

Not to mention the fact that my favorite color is purple:) I wanted to include elements that concentrated on being different or offbeat, perhaps in color or dimension, things that might not make sense as a stand alone item but as a whole it came together nicely. I have gone through several periods of time where I was quite melancholy and wanted to show those feelings in softer terms, perhaps objects rather than words so that I could "feel" it rather than read it.

This weeks kit was done for a designer challenge/contest over at Gingerscraps. Initially the kit only contained a handful of papers and elements but I loved the colors and vibe of the kit that I had to revamp and add a few more pieces. I think it's perfect for all of the fall holidays as well as any other time of the year. The oranges are bright and vibrant against the subtle and muted greens.
